Heather Townsend is The Author of The Financial Times Guide To Business Networking. She is a performance improvement specialist for professional services, widely published writer and social media expert.
Over the past decade, Heather has worked with more than one hundred partners, coached and trained over 1000 lawyers, accountants and other professionals at every level, within the UK’s leading and most ambitious professional practices. She is the UK’s foremost expert on how business people can build meaningful and profitable relationships via social media.
Heather is the co-founder of ‘The Executive Village’, a network of over 300+ business owners and senior decision makers, which brings them together to help solve each other’s problems. Our members meet regularly at face-to-face events across the UK, supported by a lively LinkedIn group and discussion forum.
Recently referred to as ‘one of the UK’s most influential ‘tweeters’’ and “Twitter royalty”, Heather has built a very large network online, with over 5000 Twitter followers in the last 18 months. She blogs on the subject of business, career and personal efficiency, attracting 100+ unique visitors to her blogs every day.
Heather is a graduate from Oxford University in Engineering Science. Her early career was in supply chain management, working for Procter & Gamble and Tesco. Before, she took the plunge into business ownership, she spent five years working for BDO LLP, a UK top 6 accountancy practice.
In her spare time, she is the branch chair of her local branch Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) committee. She balances her two successful businesses with the demands of her young family.
